Eye Camp at DLS Health Care
Ekta Foundation attempts to provide support the society for cataract surgeries. This program runs in rural areas of Joypur, Purulia in West Bengal. Majority of the patients in this program are underprivileged adults who come from rural areas. After successfully conduct the EYE Camp, cataract surgery of 10 people done with support of The Leprosy Mission Hospital.
While cataract can be treated with a simple surgery. evidence suggests that lack of money and Health Care facilities is a major barrier to uptake of cataract surgery among the rural poor people. 60% of the poor who are affected by cataract turn blind due to financial constraints. Poverty deprives them of access to healthcare and bad health deprives them of an income.
DLS Health Care – Unit of Ekta Foundation conducting at DLS Mission School Purulia in West Bengal. We regularly conduct and hold FREE EYE CAMPS and Awareness program for benefit of masses at Schools, colleges, social organizations in rural under- privileged area. We have a team of highly qualified Ophthalmologists and Eye specialist doctor from The Leprosy Mission Hospital.

- Various Myths related to eyes including diet, excessive usage of gadgets like mobile phones, tablets, computers, etc., applying or putting anything in your eyes other than prescribed by an qualified ophthalmologist and how to use of Contact Lens.
- How you can check whether your kid is having a refractive error or lazy eye, etc and if he can be treated for LOW VISION.
- Effect of Diabetes and Hypertension on eye.
- How any person can check at home whether he or she has developed Cataract or not.
- Information on Eye Donation…and many more.
